Building Practical Skills, Empowering Communities
Our Focus
At Every Day Skills, we’re focused on teaching the real-world know-how that everyday life depends on — the kind that isn’t always taught in school. Our workshops bring people together to learn side by side with local volunteers and guest experts. Through these community events, we help people of all ages build confidence, connection, and a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals by providing access to practical skills and knowledge, fostering a sense of community and self-sufficiency. We strive to create positive change by uniting people and addressing everyday challenges through hands-on workshops and community events. Join us in building a more capable and empowered community.
We are committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity in all aspects of our work. By engaging with community members and stakeholders, we aim to amplify diverse voices and create impactful solutions that address the everyday needs of our community.
Who Are We?
Meet The Organizers
We’re makers, mentors, and neighbors who believe anyone can learn to build — with the right guidance, tools, and encouragement — and become the next generation of hands-on problem solvers. Our leadership team combines decades of experience across the construction industry.

Elisha Haan
Executive Director & Founder
Elisha believes everyone should know how to make, build, and repair the things around them. He started EverydaySkills to give people the chance to learn real-world skills, hands-on and side-by-side. Having started his own construction business at 16, he has first-hand experience learning the every day skills needed to succeed.

Blake Haan
Mentor & Coach
Blake brings real-world experience and steady guidance to every class. He helps students build confidence, solve problems, and develop practical skills that last well beyond the workshop — always leading with patience and purpose.

Blake Stovers
Mentor & Coach
Blake turns challenges into learning moments, guiding students through hands-on problem-solving with calm, practical know-how. His easygoing style makes the workshop feel like a place where anyone can learn and succeed.

Ben Sampica
Technical Director
Ben builds and maintains the tech that keeps EverydaySkills moving — websites, registrations, and all the behind-the-scenes systems that make classes easy to access and run without a hitch.

Luke Bristow
Workshop Coordinator
Luke keeps every EverydaySkills workshop running smoothly — organizing classes, managing tools and materials, and ensuring safety and efficiency in the shop. He bridges the gap between instructors, students, and community partners, making sure each session is prepared, supported, and hands-on from start to finish.

Brady Earsman
Workshop Coordinator
From setting up the shop floor to handing out safety gear, Brady keeps the action moving. He’s the one who makes sure every tool’s in place, every class runs on time, and every student walks away with new skills — and a smile.
